Spiffies Tooth Wipes

spiffies.com

Spiffies are individually wrapped tooth wipes with xylitol that prevents tooth decay in babies. As a mother of a one year old with 10 teeth already - the Spiffies allowed me to introduce the concept of brushing teeth in a pleasant and acceptable manner. My baby wouldn’t let me use a toothbrush, but loved when I used a washcloth because it felt great on his sore gums. Now consider adding three flavors to that plus cavity fighting ingredients - and you’ve got a happy baby with healthy teeth (and happy mom!).

My pediatric dentist introduced me to Spiffies at his one year check-up. We tried the samples and baby loved it. When researching Spiffies, I was surprised to learn that  tooth decay is the most common chronic disease of childhood accoridng to The center for Disease Control and Prevention. What’s even more concerning is that cavity infection is almost always transferred from baby teeth to permanent teeth.Spiffies on baby’s first teeth is as effective in removing plaque as using a toothbrush. Spiffies should be used 2-3 times a day for maximum xylitol benefits, which include reduction in the levels of the bad bacteria that cause early childhood cavities.  >> More Oral Health facts

The only complaint I have is that it leaves a sticky residue, so I make sure to have a wet wipe to clean his lips and my hand right after.

I love this product and recommend to all my friends with babies. In fact, you can order a “new baby gift box” as a shower gift.  The features I enjoy most are ease of use, the health benefits, and the fact that my son now loves the concept of cleaning his teeth. The flavors are great and he actually asks for them when he sees them!

Where you can buy it: Spiffies.com and CVS.com
