I’ve always been fascinated with the natural benefits and curative properties of food: nude food, food at it’s natural and pure state. A is for Apple kicked off my series Nude Food: Foods That Heal, with B is for Banana up next:

B is for Banana

  • Arthritis & Gout - eat a diet of bananas only for three or four days when inflammation occurs. Eat eight or nine bananas daily during this period and nothing else.
  • Burns & wounds - mash a banana into a fine paste to spread over burn or wound than cover with a band aid.
  • Dysentery - eat mashed banana with a little bit of salt  (effective for children as well).
  • Kidney disorders - eat a diet of bananas only for three or four days when inflammation occurs. Eat eight or nine bananas daily during this period and nothing else. *Do not eat bananas if suffering from kidney failure due to the high potassium content.
  • Menstrual cramps - cooked banana flower (or eat a regular banana!).
  • Oral thrush - eat at least one banana every day until you notice improvement.
  • Stomach ulcers - eat at least one mashed banana every day until you notice improvement.
  • Urinary disorders - juice from the banana stem.
