Potty Scotty Training Pants

scotty-padded_6_600When it was time to start potty-training I knew I wanted to use cotton underwear versus “pull-ups” to cut the middle man out. When my boy was born, I went the disposable diaper route versus the hybrid diapers now available - so I was anxious to get rid of them and get my boy in a more organic and healthy alternative. Moreover, the potty training program I choose recommended cotton training pants for a few key reasons:

1.      Cotton pants don’t keep a child feeling dry
2.      It makes it easier for you to quickly detect when your child starts to pee so that you can whisk her to the potty (thereby strengthening the connection in her mind)
3.      A change to cotton pants marks a clear change to status quo which lets your child know he’s moving toward becoming a “big kid”. After all, “pull-ups” are nothing more than step-in diapers.

After a thorough online search (something I do incessantly as a new mom) I came across the most effective training underwear that met my criteria: super absorbent, comfortable, and inexpensive within its category.  To my delight, I came to learn Potty Scotty pants were recommended by The Doctors and Dr. Jim Sears. The only change I would like to see is a snugger leg opening. For my slender boy, the waist fits perfect, but the leg openings are a bit too loose.
